5 stars out of 5! I usually hesitate to watch nature documentaries because the heartbreak can feel too much, but Pangolin: Kulu’s Journey left me feeling deeply moved and, surprisingly, full of hope. It’s such an intimate story that I felt as if I was right there beside Kulu, experiencing every high and low of his growth alongside his dedicated carer. Seeing the bond between humans and this incredible species restored my faith in our capacity for compassion.

Thank you, Nicci Wright, Alexis Kriel, Gareth Jones, Prof. Ray Jansen, Pippa Ehrlich and everyone at the African Pangolin Working Group, and all involved in the making of one of the most poignant and heartfelt documentaries I’ve ever seen. The cinematography was nothing short of exquisite—rich in detail and deeply immersive. But what truly moved me was the palpable emotional connection each of you shares with this extraordinary creature, the "85 million-year-old, bipedal, prehistoric, mammalian unicorn."

Your unwavering dedication shines through every moment of this intimate film. I don’t think most people realise the sheer amount of time, effort, heart, and soul you pour into every single rescue— to give each pangolin the best possible chance at surviving and thriving back in the wild. Your mission is not just noble, it’s vital.

I’m incredibly grateful that, in partnership with Lapalala Wilderness, you will soon have your very own pangolarium—what an incredible step forward for conservation. I cannot wait to see all the successes that will grow from this sanctuary.

To say I was moved is an understatement. I watched the documentary twice—and I’d watch it again. If it were up to me, I’d nominate it for an award at Cannes or the Oscars.

This documentary is a must there’s so much live and dedication from everyone working with their preservation. It is such and incredible gesture and of course Kulu and the other pangolins are such special creatures that I feel blessed to have the opportunity to watch all this and being able to understand a little bit more about this amazing creature.

I see this film with my 7.5years old son he is so excited to see it and have wish to see a pangolin in life time I will also a part for his wish so that I can also save or contribute my a specific time of life for these kind of rare and most beautiful animals like Kulu..really touched our heart ❤️ and give us a big lesson of humanity and patience that Kulu have.love how u flim it and doing a most sacred job to save them for upcoming generation.thanks alot to give it hindi version too so that my father n son understand it well.alot more thanks and let me know how we can save them there and give our time to them.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED this doc!! I knew what pangolins were before this doc, but had ZERO clue that they were being hunted for their scales 🙁

I liked how much I learned about this super cute little animal and appreciate and love these little guys a lot more. TY to everyone who made this film and all who were involved in Kulu's life. I'm positive he is living his best life and who knows, maybe even has some little pango pups running around now! 🙂

There aren't enough words to describe all the things I felt (and am still feeling) after seeing Kulu's journey. Gareth did a selfless thing helping Kulu find himself in the wild again. An incredibly heartfelt, stressful, inspirational, and truthful journey. One everyone should see and learn about. This documentary lit me up inside. The passion that Nicci & Gareth (and all involved) have is enormously important to protecting this species and the overall environment. Made me feel hope again in such a dark world. Thank you.

This is an absolute must see for anyone who cares about saving a species. These beautiful, adorable creatures being trafficked is just heartbreaking. The story of Kulu is a journey into understanding how we can save them. I found the documentary incredibly touching and definitely had to reach for the kleenex.

The filming of this journey is utterly exquisite as was with My Octopus Teacher. I was absolutely glued to the tv for the entire film. This is another unbelievable accomplishment by the entire crew – congratulations to all of them involved!

This is not just a documentary — it is a beautiful, emotional and meaningful journey of one of our most endangered animals.
